With the Xively Salesforce app, Service Cloud users can see device information and status inside their Salesforce screens, with no separate login required. Service Cloud users can see device information such as serial number, firmware version, manufacturing date, and Blueprint custom fields. Service Cloud users can see status information such as whether a device is connected and a log of device activity. With appropriate programming in the device, Service Cloud users can even initiate actions on the device such as a factory reset.
The Xively Salesforce integration leverages IDM's OpenID support. OpenID is used to login the Salesforce user into IDM, obtaining a JWT which is then used by the Xively Salesforce app when it makes calls to the Xively platform to retrieve device data.
